MOMENTS OF GRATITUDE

          After 34 years of dedicated and selfless service in enlightening numerous student folk she steps down. A motherly teacher to the students, a sisterly colleague to the co-workers, an obedient servant to the authorities and a trustworthy hand to the parents Smt. Chandraprabha is more than a HSA. Her field of activity seldom was confined to the four walls of the classroom, to the blackboard and chalk pieces, to notebooks and examinations. 24 years' successful service at the school is rather a 'luxury' for a government school teacher! But for her it was a reality. A way of life. A token of living.
           Nothing was impossible for her at school, nothing was difficult, nothing was impracticable and nothing was dreary. She was and is still young at heart, energetic always,and ever ready for all that a teacher/ a parent/ a government servant must be ready to !
          The PTA members and colleagues at the school remembered all these and many more from the depth of their memory with full gratitude, love and affection- much more with an acute feeling of loss. Dried throats, Tearful eyes and heavy hearts expressed all hidden emotions.
          But it was inevitable- because the system is like that. She, they, myself and ALL should get down at the 56 from the service. There was/is/will be an overflow of such powerful feelings every year, everywhere.

FEATHER ON HIS CAP

           Sri Shahul Hameed  HSST, received the State Level Bio Diversity Award for his efforts and grand success in turning an area of about 8 acres into a lush treasure of natural vegetation consisting of a lot of flaura and fauna in their natural condition. The land,inherited from ancestors, was maintained as such.
           With the co-operation, technical help and supply of seedlings from the Department of Social Forestry the ancestral treasure has been transformed into a "Family Park" in tune with the National Parks(which are sponsored and maintained by the governments with crores of investment) It is to be remembered here that this "forest" is maintained by an average keralite family in a surrounding where everything is looked upon with 'commercial' eyes only.

SUBHIKSHA

SUBHIKSHA- NOON MEAL PROGRAMME

          Aprogramme for providing Noon Meal for students of StdIX and Std X arranged by P. T. A. and sponsored by benevolent donors was launched on Feb 11.

           Smt. Syamaladevi K.K., District Panchayath President inaugurated the programme. Sri Pradeep B.M., Block Panchayath President presided over. Brahmasri Ravish Thanthri, Kuntar and Sri Anemajalu Vishnu Bhat, Malla, launched the programme by serving meals to the children.
           On the first day all the students of the HS,VHS,HSS and the neighbouring AUPS and a large number of parents and wellwishers participated in the "Annadaana".
      Donors from among dignitatries of various walks of life have liberally put their hands together to support and sponsor this novel project. It is also proposed to extend the project to students of VHS and HSS from the following academic year onwards.
